Re: good beginning for a group?
I an adult female spider and mojave on the bottom of the list and because you can produce more for the same amount of money, think about it say 0.5 adult females=same price as a proven female spider instead of one clutch of spiders you have 5 cluthes and %50 of those clutches will be spiders
I put adult female spider and mojave on the bottom because they are not my top piority on the list but if I do get them I want to produce mojave spiders(has anyone produced one yet I want to see some pics) and super mojaves
I found a proven Mojave and Spider,$500 for each of them, this seems like a pretty fair price its not a steal but it seem pretty good,No?and they are located locally

Hi,
I assumed it was to maximise the number of possible co-dom clutches in the first season or two (depending on how long it takes them to settle in and reach weight and nothing else interferes (sp?)).
If everyone took then he would have 7 co-dom clutches and adding the spider female could give him spider mojave's.
That would give him a good base of animals to trade or sell to fund more morph purchases for the next step.
Whereas if he didn't take the normal females and went for a female spider and mojo then he would only have 3 possible clutches with the possibility of BEL's and spider mojaves?
Or have I totally confused myself?
Now it never really works out that perfectly but I think that was the reasoning behind it.
Oh, haha you answed his question while I was typing but yeah exactly my idea

Hi,
It's been made - not my cup of tea if I'm honest but a great combo for breeding depending on what you wanted.

Re: good beginning for a group?
Honestly $500 for a proven mojave seems a bit low...I'd want to see the animal first. It's about right for a spider though...I assume you mean males---if it was females I'd be REALLY cautious...XD otherwise, awesome!!!

Re: good beginning for a group?
Thanks Derek and Crsaz for answering that. I sort of thought that, but WOW :O that's a lot of possible first clutches!!!! That's an awesome goal!!!

Re: good beginning for a group?
I probably would skip the female spider, since there is no super spider, there isn't much need for a male & female. If you have the money for morph females, go for the mojave first, then you can still get the BEL and the mojave spider (although probably not both in the first year) by breeding her to your 2 males.
If you still have money left over to spend on another morph, I'd add in some different genetics, like maybe a female pastel to be able to make bees and pastaves, and eventually super pastels and killer bees.
Anyway you look at it, that is a really ambitious undertaking for your first year trying to breed. As others have said, be careful of the sources for your breeding stock.

I could do that but that seems like alot gof girls for 2 males it'll end up being like 5 female to a male and that seems to be asking a bit much out of them but it is a very good idea and will consider removing a normal female from the list and adding a pastel
this was in no way a final list it was just some Ideas and was hoping to get positive feed back and ways to better my plan from some more expierenced guys(and thats exactly what I got)
Any one ever delt with Desert Dwellers Reptiles?they are the ones who have the two proven males,If I have the money before they are sold I will go check them out since there local

Re: good beginning for a group?
Don't forget about a pastel or two along the lines. They are a necessity nowadays, ESPECIALLY if you are getting mojos and spiders, leading to pastaves and bees. Those are my two dream designer morphs.

If I read your first post correctly, you mentioned 2 males, 6 normal females, and 2 morph females. Since I was only suggesting switching one morph female for a different one, that's still only 4 females to a male. Or did I get lost somewhere?
From what I've read (I've not done any breeding myself yet), if you'll have 4 or 5 females to a male, the males can handle it and probably more. Even if one of your males turns out to be less robust in that department, I'd guess your other one would likely be able to pick up the slack.
Here is a link to a couple of threads on the subject; if you dig around you'll find more.

Not trying to argue that you should breed your males to lots of females each, just that it apparently can be done without harm, and since it appears you want to try to get as many clutches as possible, that seems to way to go...

Re: good beginning for a group?
yeah but I also have 2 normal females now one ready to breed and one that could be this season.

Sounds good to me I just kinda thought it would be asking a bit much from them but I guess not
