Re: Have You Seen or Heard of This?
Science Diet senior small kibble is a HUGE hit with my rodents, give it a try. :) And I agree that having a critter keeper plastic carrier with a small water bottle and box hide around is a must for any snake keeper...even those who don't breed their own rodents.
Re: Have You Seen or Heard of This?
Sounds like it got bitten by a copperhead :P But somehow I doubt that's the case...
And with the rodent fights i have seen there are always wounds. So it doesn't sound like that was the problem.
Somebody mentioned heat stroke. If you are keeping them ina glass tank, make sure that it's not in direct sunlight. The tank would become a mini greenhouse and get too hot for the mice.
Re: Have You Seen or Heard of This?
this is Jakob. i was on my wifes laptop trying to post a reply and didnt notice that she was signed in under her name. now, im trying to delete this post and cant figure out how to do it. oops.
Re: Have You Seen or Heard of This?
i experienced the direct sunlight problem a couple of years ago. i looked in the tank and all of them were sweating profusely. and, i lived in texas!
yeah, no wounds on the body at all that i could see. unless the girl mouse broke up with the boy mouse and he just couldnt take it anymore.
so now, they are away from the sun in cool temps.
Re: Have You Seen or Heard of This?
Jake the only good food around here is Science Diet, but hog food is widely available (dad used to have some, mine was called Sir Lancelot). Are you planning on a colony? Mine eat dog food atm, but if u r making a colony we might get goh food.
btw I didnt know hog food is good for rats!
