haha yes we are very much into "display" cages.
i accually just reread and the burm is accually 16 years old.
    sorry... lol

we just want her to be happy and in a nice sized cage.
here owners right now are keeping her in a slightly smaller cage they made...

and we really like cages that give her the ability to climb a little, and move and explore alot.

from what we know, SHE LOVES EXPLORING.

    checked them.
we have eleminated, animal plastics, vision, and most of the similar type setups.

we are looking for a "show" cage of sorts.
similar to what a zoo or somthing of that sorts.

even though its just for us, and we arnt showing her like that, we just like those type setups...

I would not put any snake in a cage that big. Maybe a slender 6ft retic. The animal plastics are the way to go.

Justin, did you read his post? He doesn't want a tub, he wants a display cage.

I get a little hot under the collar when everyone here jumps on the "omg you can't possible keep a snake in anything other than a tub!" bandwagon. If you haven't worked with display cages, then don't tell him he shouldn't use one, k?

I don't tell you how to set up tubs, do I? :weirdface

hey ... i have a cages by design..... the 9 foot double bearded dragon setup and as someone already posted... i paid something like 6000$ and after a short while even the weight of just sand had the top and bottom layers bending and then the doors and panels became extremely hard to open. Then a little later the wheels just blew off the side, so now i had to move my nice display cage into the basement where the cement floor won't get scratched from the corners and i can sweep up the sand and dirt that falls out the side.... i really think it's better to get something custom built from anywhere else that can make a SOLID piece... look for someone a wood guy or something to make a nice piece of furniture for that. Also i forgot that their "glass", the lower part is demolished from the beardies nails.... so the display part that you like, it really doesn't last that long.... hope that can help.

Bummer to hear about the "blowouts" on the CbyD...

Our cages were built by a local guy here in SoCal, so maybe you could find something like that where you are. Search the local reptile shops and maybe reptile shows for someone who builds nice cages.

We didn't wanna build ours as skillz > us and we wanted them to look like nice furniture. =)

I did read his post. AP cages are cages, not tubs. I gave him my opinion. I gave him his best option, instead of spending a small fortune on a huge cage that a snake that big wont use all of, he could just buy a smaller, more economical enclosure that will suit the snakes needs just as well if not better.:twocents:

That burm will grow larger than 11 feet. Our male is 15 feet and the two females are both pushing 13 and still growing.
Cages by Design, in my experience with them, are not worth the money. I had two cages from then and both fell apart. They're not very well made.

I would go with a custom built cage....most cost effective and you'll get the options you want :)

So just because one person is 7 feet, that means that there will never be 4 foot tall people? Her burm is obviously just on the small size. Animals come in all different shapes and sizes.

That could change depending how it's feeding schedule changes.

I'd suggest maybe looking for a carpenter. We've got a carpenter in the local herp society out there, he's built some neat cages for a few people.
