If you start considering breeding for genetics, then chances are that sweet male of yours will never see the inside of a female's enclosure b/w October and April (AKA ever). :)
You never know though, post a few pics, as he may have that certain je-ne-sais-quoi! Lots of super sharp critical eyes on this forum.
Also keep in mind that snakes that are heterozygous for recessive traits are phenotypically normals.
Snakes are line-bred all the time, if they weren't we would not have the amazing diversity we do in captivity. They are also non-migratory, so this would occur in the wild as well.
Most often dad is bred back to the daughters to find out if certain traits are indeed genetic. That is the easiest route... as dad can breed lots of daughters, but mom can breed only one son.
And if he is a granite... then he isn't a normal. :)

yes that did help alot ill try to get some pics up as soon as possible like i said in my title i am quite new to this whole thing and my thoughts that my male may be a black granite came from looking at BP morphs on the internet wehre i saw a pic of a black granite and realized that it looked alot like my male. luckilly for me my pair is still a good year off from breeding so i have a good amount of time to learn and i do intend to breed for genetics but if all i have are a couple normals it gives perfect opportunity for practice beforehand =)
