Re: New Baby BP- My first- digestion question!
Update: I had a quick word with the exotic specialist this morning (I pretty much stalk her now, lol) and told her the lump hasn't moved or changed in size. She told me to try to feed the snake because that would be the best thing help move it along. I was really nervous because she's never eaten for me before (only had her five days now). I went home on my lunch break with a hopper and she ate it! I was so excited- when she struck the hopper and coiled around it I whooped for joy and started dancing around, lol. The other vet said to continue giving 15 minute warm water baths to induce defecation. So excited to see if this is going to work! :-)

I am not about to suggest that all vets are perfect and that a forum such as this is useless. However, If you take a moment to think about it, you would see that a trained vet would be your best resource.

Update!!!
Sorry it's been a while, I moved and I just got internet today. My little python has gained over 30 grams since I last posted. She pooped a biggggg poop a week or so ago. She is in perfect health. We have confirmed that the lump that was palpable in her digestive tract was just food and not anything serious. She was slightly underweight when I got her and that's what made it stand out. She's doing great, she is a lovely lap snake that loves to hang around my neck and explore my desk.
Thanks for all your help!
