How are you running the game online? We've considered trying to hook everybody up (Our major judge now lives in nebraska away from the rest of the group) through skype and webcameras, but haven't tried it.

Online Forum won't really work for us with the games we run.
Although it might be interesting to create a game that could be run in that fashion.

Hmm, you must be very visual players, then. :) We run our games off RPOL.net, which is a great IM-like game forum. The GM sets it all up and the players request to join and post away once they're in.

It's not better than live, but it's kinda nice being able to have time to word responses and attacks the way you want them. :) I can PM you my BF's email address if you want more info on the site, since he's the DM and knows more about it all than me.

I'll keep it in mind. We don't run games where we roll initiative or anything like that so combat pretty much happens in the order the judge decides or as close to "realtime" as it can. We always run games with a playlist of music, which has been more of a block to us trying to run anything.

The 4.0 rule set is coming out, which will also offer full computer interface on virtual boards with voice-chat so you can hook up and play with people from around the world. There is also the D&D Online MMORPG.

Looks like it will be interesting. I enjoy boardgames, but never had anybody to try D&D with until recently. Sadly they are moving in a few months, so the 4.0 rule set/online will be perfect for keeping in touch and playing. :)

I used to play it. Then I moved to Muds online. Then I went to Guild Wars. Now I'm too busy being mature to play games lol!

Not true, I'm just lacking in the necessary free time nowadays :(

I have a werewolf tribe glyph tattoo on my arm.
I was in an Eberron Game, which is an offshoot of the D& D game system.. the owners of the games Wizards of the Coast.. opened up their patents.. or what ever and allow independent D20 game systems to be published under their name.

I also do other games such as GURPS, Call of Cthulu, Tri Tac Systems, and in the D20 world, we play Spy Craft, Star Wars, Fringeworthy, and Champions system games.
I am 38 and have been in games since I was 17, I have friends who run Vampire Live Action, and some other games. I have DM'd games, and played a lot of other games.
We do it on our Saturday nights, my husbands friends and I.. I am at a game store NOW, while I am typing this, as they have WI FI, we just finished a GURPS version of Star Trek.
We don't get drunk, we have fun, we do have puns, jokes, silly things go on.. and have a jar for when we go off topic. The jar money is used to buy sodas and for charity work.
You can go into local comic book shops and game stores, you can find simple and fun board games, and books for table top role playing games. There are often announcement boards that have want ads for when people are looking for gamers for games.
