    thats the thing though he looked perfect when i got him and then i came home and this, by the way i did get him out the night before and none of this was on him he looked like the day i got him ill take pics of the female to show you just for comparison

    I too wonder if he wasn't constricted by his tank-mate.
    A good squeeze could lead to internal bleeding, which could lead to symptoms like dehydration of the body, bruising, and internal bleeding into the belly.
    I'm not experienced with this sort of thing, but I watch CSI :P

    sorry for your loss though...hope you get this figured out.

    Definitely get a Necropsy done by your vet ASAP - keep the body in the fridge. That's the only way you'll know for sure.

    I'm not all up to date on viruses and bacteria... but this looks more like physical trauma than anything biological. Meaning, I don't see the need to take the animal to the vet for a necropsy in case of spreading infection when it was really an overnight thing.

    But, given the little bit of facts we do know, it would be nice just to have peace of mind to take the living one to the vet for a check up. Get the tests done on her to make sure she is ok.
