Look, I'm upset about the loss of the snake but I'm not vindictive. She didn't mean to lose her, and she was just trying to help, because she was worried about Basilica getting too hot. She likes my snakes, and I don't mind if she holds them. The snake in question cost me a grand total of $35, alright---but it's not the money, and I don't want a replacement. It's the loss of a valued and loved pet that bothers me, not the loss of a 'collection piece' or monetary investment. As for getting petty revenge---No. I love the cats and dogs as much as I love my snakes, and I would NEVER abandon an animal like that. It sickens me that someone would even suggest such a thing.
Sorry to sicken you. It sickens me someone would leave their snake tank outside while they are at work. Now we're even. I am sorry you lost your snake, but... could have been prevented.

That really was a very unnecessary comment. She obviously already knows that it wasn't the brightest idea to leave her outside. But unfortunately her mother took her out and did not put the locks on the tub.
Realistically, she could have left the previous story out and left it at her mother forgot the locks.
Why do you feel the need to suggest abandonment and vindictive recourses when clearly she is already upset about the loss of her snake?
I think it's horrible of you to even suggest such a thing as abandoning any animal, much less for revenge when it was an accident.
For the future, keep those sort of comments to yourself, since it only makes you look like an ass at the expense of others.

Re: What I lost for my birthday
Ok, you're right, I should have left that comment out, but at the same time, it really does sicken me that someone wouldn't care for something like they should, and then ask for sympathy.
I mean, like insurance. If your car gets stolen, because you left the keys in it, you won't be covered. Oops, shouldn't have left your keys in your car. Same thing here.
She left her baby outside and went to work. You're right, it's not the mom's fault here. Can you guess who's it is? I'm a pretty easy going guy, and I'd like to think I was liked by most on here, but again, it's hard for me to feel sad for someone who didn't do the right thing. And until they make opinions against the rules here, I'm going to continue to express mine. Whether people like them or not.

 You're not helping your case, bud.
I'm glad you live in Florida, because this means your snake has a very high chance of being alive. Call me a fool, but I strongly suggest you run around the entire area and look EVERYWHERE you can. I mean EVERYWHERE. Culverts, logs, under cars, near hoses, sheds, anywhere you think she might be. Balls are pretty slow goers and if you hurry, I think you might catch her around somewhere.
I would highly recommend NOT contacting the vet.. If it is found out that your snake got away, they might pull some "release of invasive species" crap on you. :(
I really hope you find her. I can tell she means alot to you. :(

Re: What I lost for my birthday
Was it during the day when It got out? If so, I would definatly check all around the house. My guess is they don't travel too far during the day. Putting out food would be my best guess on how to get it back. But BPs you know, don't always want to eat.
I wonder if there's a GPS chip you could put in them. Or something that you could turn on to locate them.. like a beacon or something, like in airplanes (but much much smaller).
Sorry about the above posts, mondays are not good days for me, and I shouldn't post on them because I tend to be more of an ass. If I offended you, that was not my intent.

Re: What I lost for my birthday
I would triple check everywhere. Most cases that I've heard about BPs getting out, they were found within 15-20 ft of their cage. Good luck finding her!

Re: What I lost for my birthday
Happy Birthday. Sorry to hear about that, it's seriously a horrible thing to have happen....especially on your b-day. :'( I feel so bad.
What I would do is search the whole entire perimeter and all the grasslands near the house and anything around your house. Maybe take a picture of your house and around your yard and see if we can find Waldo (Basilica). :P

I would look and look and look, then look some more.
I really hope you find it.
Good luck.

Re: What I lost for my birthday
I know I don't post much on here, but this makes me a bit angry. You left your snake outside and now it's gone. Your one of the reasons we have this NOI and potential ban now. I feel for you losing your snake, I've lost one too but it didn't leave the snake room. I just don't get why it was outside. Whatev I guess.
