    Yippee, she just dropped for the second time! I haven't gotten an exact count but she has quite a few, and is nursing them and the ones I can see have good milk bands.

    Sounds like it's going to be fine this time. She may have birthed them a bit early last time since they were so much smaller than normal or they just weren't healthy or the birthing was harder than it should have been. Most rats don't pass much blood at all - cleanest birthers I've ever seen really.

    I always like to give a rat a couple of chances to be a good breeder before I make a decision to cull her for poor birthing/mothering.
