You need to make sure it isn't too warm, btw. Since our body temperatures are much higher, warm to you would be scolding to a snake.

because you work at a pet store, it may be wiser to give youreself a bath and other handlers hand sanitizer before handling the snake rather than give the snake a bath after being handled by dirty people...:D

That's the wisest thing I have read in this thread yet.

Re: Help-BP 1st Bath
I also don't bathe my snakes, nor soak them before a shed - because that can actually make a shed worse by leeching out the natural moisture that's between the old skin and new skin as part of the shed process.
Baths aren't necessary - sounds like the OP's grandfather had it right all along! ;)

Re: Help-BP 1st Bath
Does it harm them to give them a bath. Because since yesterday he has been moving all around his cage and seems to be more active. Normally he would just sit under his half log hide all day doing nothing.

Re: Help-BP 1st Bath
Well, he could be stressed out... or he is hungry. I have found my BP's will cruise the cage if they are hungry.

If he's training for the BP Olympics, he's probably stressed. His prior behavior is what "normal", secure ball pythons do.

Re: Help-BP 1st Bath
Hes not hungry because my grandfather feed him a few days ago. I just though it had somthing to do with him getting a little excersise because even when heis hungry he doesnt move this much.:D

Re: Help-BP 1st Bath
Thanks Bender!
Yeah, I check the temperature of the water I soak her in. I like to keep it around 85*F
