Most snakes wont eat in shed, they can smell or see good and feel vulnerable. Some dont care but most do.

Messing with there hide also isn't helpful, they are ambush hunters and many will stay in there hide with there head poking out when in feeding/ambush mode.

Disturbing or handling a snake too much will also make it nervous refuse food. stressed BP's dont eat well.

Wait a week after a refusal and then try again.

Most of my snakes will not eat prekilled, they will sniff it, look interested but not strike. You will always have more sucess with live.

The snake is probably not afraid of the rodent but more of you messing with him. many snakes as they get older care more about security than food. There are always exceptions but generally this is the case.

Jusy let him chill for a week then put in a live rat pup without disturbing him or his hide and you should have better results.

she has always been a very aggressive eater and i have always taken her out of the hide to feed her. the first 2 times i fed her i left her in the hide with no response for over a half hour. handling her before feeding definitely hasnt bothered her the 20-25 times i have fed her. this is the first time she has actually refused to eat for longer than a week.

ive tried leaving fresh killed in the tank over night with no luck now either. i really want to convert her over to f/t but this really isnt helping.

she's just never been a picky eater so im wondering why she wont eat now even though nothing has changed...

should i try sticking to f/t now or get her eating again with live before trying to switch over to f/t?

she has been bitten once by a feisty mouse but that was about 2 months ago im guessing and she has fed fine since. with her last shed that little scar went away:)
