The bottom line is the only good shows asides from Rob and Big and Viva La Bam... were all on fuse..
Uranium, Slave to the Metal, when Juliya was lookin' hot and rockin' metal ALL night long. That's the stuff I miss when they were playin' Slayer and Motograter and Slipknot and Devil Driver and those shows were killer... the world is going down the crapper and music is going with it.

Nope, they have only ever played a small clip of the music video. I never had cable growing up (well, we had basic) and mtv wasn't on there. When I got to watch it, I paid attention and thought it was such a rip off that they didn't play the whole music video.

I loved Rob and Big... that too was my only favorite show. Viva la Bam was starting to get sucky after the first couple of seasons. It was too scripted for me.

I remember Down Town July Brown... And the Tall monotone guy... Vidoe Killed the Radio Star... Yo MTV Raps, Headbanger's Ball... I remember staying up for the premier of Thriller! :O The Crue's Shout at the Devil, Duran Duran, Love is a Battle Field, Oh Micky.... *sigh*

I'm with you, my hub watched Rob & Big, he's gonna be upset that it's gone... I watched Viva la Bam... well, cause I happen to think that Bam is kinda yummy. He won my heart in Jack-Asz when he started to cry over the Cobra... :D But like you...felt that his show was too "scripted" good word! :)

    I need more Coffee...........

 RIGHT!?!?!? How bout the fact that some of the episodes are PROOF... that just cause you have Green... doesnt mean that you have style.... or at least enough sense to hire a designer that does! :8:

Man.. MTV had its heyday when I was a kid. It actually came out the same year that I was born. It was awesome for people to finally be able to get to know their musicians better. To see them right on their TV screens singing and dancing and playing music.. awesome.
Now.. I have not-much use for music television. I often YouTube songs that I like; most of those vids are at least 10 years old, if not older. And most of them would Not be deemed mainstream-enough to be on MTV!
Yeah Vom.. Headbanger's Balls has no draw to me anymore. My husband is a true metalhead, maybe even moreso than me, and he shares your view on it also. I dunno.. lots of metal bands out nowadays are just too polished and hoity-toity to me. I miss the days where you could see a band's RAW energy and identity. Not everyone wearing shiny new spiked outfits that they paid $100000 for.. just my take on it.
Fuse just makes me feel old. I can see where the emo kids are coming from.. but Morrissey would shake his head at what they play.. and isn't Morrissey the true meaning of emo?
