    Alright, thanks for all of the input from everyone. I ended up ordering 20 weaned and 15 small rats from Big cheese rodents. Price was a dollar less per rat than local pet store. Not too bad in my opinion.

    That's correct, freezer burn only affects taste and texture, not nutritional value or food safety.

    With rodents, those ice crystals could very easily result in exploding feeders when re-heated, so if you want to use them over the course of a year or two, you should split them up and vacuum pack them in smaller groups so they wouldn't be subject to as much ice crystal damage.
