    I was thinking this as well, I actually already own the book but I've been anticipating a newer version coming out to purchase :)

    If you're looking for something well written but still cheap to hold you over until you can get the money to sink on either vpi's or the complete ball python.

    I'd suggest Ball Pythons In Captivity. I twas written by kevin, the same guy who wrote The Complete Ball Python but you can order it for around 12 or so dollars shipped. It's a good book, size and such is definitely about the same as those books you see in pet stores, but still not a bad read, besides, can you ever have two many books about ball pythons!?

    I own both, which is why I mentioned VPI.

    For what the OP was asking for, VPI is more comprehensive.

    ive only looked though the vpi book at the reptile shows i think i drooled in one of the books when i was looking at the morphs lol but anyways i cant wait to pick that up
