I couldnt find 6'' its either 4 or 11''.. Also the fridge is about a foot of space of the bottom. How long should the tape be.

I used to incubate colubrid eggs in a fishtank - just a tank (in this case, with a layer of foam insulation on three sides and the bottom) 1/3 filled with water. I had a submersible aquarium heater in the water, with the eggs in a shoebox above water level. Vermiculite under the eggs, of course. Low tech, but it worked for corns, kings and pine snakes!

Don't know about pythons . . .

I used a fishtank covered on all sides and lidded with 2" thick polystyrene for a ball python clutch last year. There are some pictures of it in my gallery if it helps.

I used the aquarium heater in about half a tank full of water and it kept the temps and humidity fine.

The cooler idea does sound a little more scientific and controlable though.

I wouldnt mess with them, if its been a few days you could risk hurting the eggs. Let the mom do her thing! She can do it just as well if not better than a incubator, so far alot of people who do maternal incubation get a 100% hatch rate:cool:

Yeah I am going to let her do her own thing. When should I expect a hatch date so I can keep an eye on everything?

It usually takes 55 days for BP eggs to incubate, so just subtract from that and you should have a ball-park idea anyway.

Ok so I got a incubator on loan from a local breeder and I have substrate and everything. I am warming the bator up as we speak. What is the best way to get mom off her eggs and to get the eggs into the tub without damaging them.
