Oh OK, thanks. If this works it will be a nice change, the food is cheaper than buying at a pet store and should last a little longer.

You can get rodent chow at Acworth Feed on Highway 92 and I-75. You get a big bag(25 or 50 pounds) for $25. They also carry aspen and pine really cheap.

Sounds like it should be ok. I use Science Diet Senior small kibble with the Mix for my mice and they adore it! :)

Sounds ok to me too. I'm not sure on the fat content % for mice, but I know it's not too far off from Mazuri. Fiber seems a little low, but your supplementing it with the mix. I think they'll do fine! :gj:

Really? Do they raise the horses or are they.... sold to them as they get older? *shudder* Not a big fan of pedigree, and not any more now.

I have no idea where they get them, likely from auctions(retired racehorses anyone?). I think there are enough cattle/goat/sheep/duck/etc to fill orders for dog food, without having to resort to using horses.. Just MHO though.. :(

Personally, I use Wellness Senior for my rats(they are pets). It's only 18% and has alot of essential fatty acids that are good for their skin and coats, among other things. The mice just get Mazuri blocks(the higher protein/fat type) and some black oil sunflower seeds/oatmeal/pasta as a "fun" thing.
