He is a real knockout! What is his name?

The pattern is fantastic. Great choice! I'm sure he will bring you both lots of happiness.

Please post some more pictures of the enclosure too, it looks great!

HAHA I already am looking LOL! That is one thing I was wondering about. The breeder i bought him from said he should be fine in the same appropriately sized enclosure with another female BP. I've read a bit about this and some say yes some say no. I still have not decided if I would house 2 together or not yet, but I would like to get him a girlfriend reguardless. Hopefully a morph, "lemon pastels and ?caramels? i think? are sooo pretty"

I've actually even began to talk my girlfriend into the whole rack system and breeding idea! We'll see, but that should take some time to convince her. I've showed her how much some snakes sell for if you do it right etc...

Once he got settled in and I had all of the temps/humidity just right, I fed him yesterday! He went right for it no problems at all, that was the coolest! This is soo cool that everything is working out so well because I would really like to keep more down the road.

Thank you all for your nice comments about him we really do love him. I will post some pics of his enclosure later tonight when he's awake after I've given him time alone after eating.

Also how much time should I give him after eating before I handle him? I've read 48 hours is best.

two months before you get another! lol! but seriously I've been thinking of making it to that show sometime. How was it?

did anyone else get the 48 hours question? If not... Yes, 48 hours is generally a good timeframe. It's also best not to house them together.

The show was great, I've only been to a couple shows myself but it was worth the hour long drive for me... I'll be ther again

Most people here, myself included definitely think it's a bad idea to house more than one ball python in the same tank. If you do a search you'll find all the bad things that can happen, from stress, refusing food, all the way up to catching illnesses from the other snake if it gets sick, and in extreme (although rare) cases death due to cannibalism.

Both of your snakes will eat better, and just be healthier in general in my opinion, if you house them separately.

Also, keep working on the girlfriend, she gave in to the first one, soon she'll give into a second, then a third, after you get the 5th one in you'll be golden to convince her to start breeding. Just explain to her about all the cute little baby snakies you'll have. Also if you breed morphs, lots of morphs never look cuter than when their babies. (IE Axanthics, Silver Bullets, Pastels and such)
