I use my "left over" bins for other things like keeping super worms, cleaning bins (put animals in them while cleaning) exc.. i think the possibilities are endless, IMO (and thats all it is) 32qt is awfully big for some of my smaller animals, it isnt like you have a ton of big heavy tanks sitting around.. but everyone is different. good luck PP with what you choose to do :gj:

You could put two on it but if they are too large you might not be able to control cool side well enough, if you think its necessary to have two and can keep temps where they belong then thats great, im just trying to save you some power ;)
Our heater/AC always keeps the temp around 69-74 in the house. Meh, it is a bummer that the second UTH will goto waste :\ I will eventually get few more snakes so it will come in handy ;)
So 15q tub is enough for a 200g snake? He's growing pretty fast...was only 90 grams in early January..
By the way, what can I do with the tank? I really don't need it anymore and I am realizing just now how much of a pain in the butt it is (cleaning, humidity temperatures ...etc)

If its in good shape you could try selling it on craigslist, you might not get much but at least its out of your house and can get a couple extra bucks in the process. I personally have a 550+ gram female in a 15qt bin and shes doing fine. I plan on moving her to a larger bin around 700-800grams depending on how she does.. she eats great, sheds great, exc so we dont mind keeping her in a smaller bin. I know of some breeders who keep 300gram babies in shoebox size bins not sure of what the qt is but its pretty small IMO. They do grow pretty quick but I dont see any harm in keeping them in 15qt for awhile, but thats my 0.02 i know everyone is different. Yes certainly keep that extra UTH for new snakes ;) when your male outgrows the 15qt bin that gives you an excuse to get another baby :gj: good luck!
i had several tanks (beardeds, balls, exc) in the beginning and sold all of them on craigslist, we use bins for all our snakes and its been wonderful. Even when we had just the one or two bins it was fine, now that we have 8 in a rack its even better. You would be sick all the stuff i just threw away (uth, rheostat, exc) that I didnt end up using when I made the switch to the rack.

Re: Switching to tubs. How do I regulate the heat?
Here's the deal, if you want to put that little baby in a 32 quart (BTW, none of my animals are in a 32 qt, all 28 qt, and there are some big females too), then try it out. If you notice your animal goes off feed or is not acting like her usual cheery self, then size her down to a 12 qt and work up from there.
I have had my girls up to 800 grams in a 15 qt, no hide, eating like monsters and doing great. Then they got moved to a 28 and are still eating like monsters.
Point is, from my perspective you can never have too many tubs around the house. (I think we have 50 tubs right now, varying in size for 14 snakes ;))

great post Connie, glad someone else chimmed in :gj: we have a ton of bins hanging around too. I even have some rodent bins that are HUGE i made for the mice that of course it turns out we dont breed cause its too much of a hassle and its easier to just order ____ mice weekly lol and those just sit on the patio, we have a bunch of those 12qt bins that just sit under the sink until we make up something to use them for lol :weirdface

Same thing here; I have some 800g snakes in 15qt tubs because they would not eat in the 32qt and they're doing just fine. What works for one snake doesn't always work for another. If you want to attempt the 32qt that is fine but be prepared to try a smaller enclosure if your ball doesn't eat. I would personally stick to the 15qt tub and switch to the 32qt later on. The only thing you would have to spend extra on is the 32 qt tub; you could reuse all your other supplies. You'll probably need two UTHs for the 32qt tub if you choose to go that route.

Well, ya gotta stock up when they are on sale! I swear, one of the first places I head for in walmart is the tub aisle. It's not uncommon for us to buy a huge stack of what ever is left when it's on sale. Plus, I like to take a gander at several different stores a see what new models are being offered. lol, maybe that's just me. I get excited about tubs

Pretty much sums it up. We built both of our racks for our sterilite tubs, I would hate to have it go out of production!

Re: Switching to tubs. How do I regulate the heat?
Ok. Thanks for all the responses. One more question...where would I go about putting the tub? Is it okay if its on the floor under my bed or...does it have to be on top of a shelf?
