Not to hijack the thread, but I remember when I was working in a Pet store and this guy came in to buy goldfish. As I was catching them for him I was making small talk about the fish and what he was feeding them too(feeder goldfish). He tells me he lost a bet and he has to eat 10 of them. I think it was a Volunteers football game or something. So he asks me can I try one here? Stunned I said sure and he ate one.

It was one of the craziest things to happen to me while working anywhere.

Sorry to hijack but eating goldfish made me think of this story.

I don't know about BP's and goldfish, but keep your rats away from your guppies. Not much surprises me anymore. I was in a pet store a while ago and I saw an aquarium full of crickets with a lable that read Ball Pythons $79.00. When I questioned the "snake guy" he said oh they are in there, just hiding. When I asked about the crickets he said it was feeding day.

I see crix in the BP tanks at the local PetCo all the time... they jump across the cages, out of a lizard cage or somewhere. I just don't believe a BP will eat a cricky either...

The thing with crix is, they will nibble on anything, including snakes and lizards if the snakes and lizards don't bite back.

No, the bps did not eat the crickets.
I had actually managed one of his stores for about a year, fed everything properly and had all of the managers in my district doing the same. It was a 'what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him' kind of thing because he was convinced that all baby snakes ate crickets....frightening thought that he still runs five stores back there isn't it?

I actually had a woman who worked at a PetCo tell me (when I was buying a new pair of hides for Auryn) that her daughter's BP only at goldfish. She claimed that no matter what they tried, it wouldn't eat mice but it would eat goldfish. She said it had died...but after it had been with her daughter for a couple years. I think I made a post on here about it...I hope she's not suggesting to new BP owners that they try that!

I babysat my Science Class' pet Garter Snake in grade 7, and it only ate feeder fish. Quite interesting to watch. However, it produced the most stinky, runny poo you ever saw/smelled. It was terrible! I was super grateful when I first saw Salzedo's perfectly formed, solid snakey-poo in the corner of his enclosure one day. Gooooo rats!!!

I'd not every try feeding a fish to a snake. I know the results!
