    I live in Clinton Twp., kind of by detroit.

    I know some guy named Bryan who has a huge warehouse of snakes is close to where I live. Not sure if he has a vet on staff.

    Well I ended up calling the hospital in Clinton Twp. and they said to bring him in. SO I did and they tried to get the swelling to go down but were unsuccesful so they had to amputate it. :(

    But he should recover fine and live a health happy life.

    I'm glad he turned out ok, good job for getting it taken care of, I know I would have been so stressed over it.

    BTW, the Bryan you are talking about is BHB, just so you know...

    Did they amputate the hemipenes? One or both?

    They only had to amputate one of the hemipenes. so he should still be good to breed according to the vet.

    They tried several times to get the swelling down but there was some tissue dammage and they weren't sure that even if they got it back in that it would function correctly.

    I am sorry to hear that they had to amputate. I hope he has a full and speedy recovery.
