Re: Problems right before vacation
You'll probably have much less worries that's for sure. You should be fine with the moss so long as it's not wet or damp when you put it in.... Squeeze as much water out as you can with your hands, otherwise you might come home to a mold issue!

Hi,
Can't you take the tank to one of their houses or is that not an option?

That would be ideal, but there is a difference to the parents between their kid checking on the neighbors pet, and having a snake in there house.
All my neighbors either have a bearded dragon, or Tort, The kids dont mind the snake, but it seems all the parents are terrified of them when i said i got one.
Anyway, the humidity has been steady, and has actually risen to 73%. SO the changes must have been good.
Thanks

Re: Problems right before vacation
Have you given any thought to using a tub rather than a tank? I fought a glass tank tooth and nail trying to get the temps and humidity to stabilize. When I got my adult bp, I started him in a tub, and when setting it up, it took about an hour to get everything steady, and it's been perfect since then.
They're not as appealing visually, but the ease of use more than makes up for it.

Re: Problems right before vacation
Hi,
Just would like to post a update,
Anyway, im back, the humidity was 25%, not great, but the humid hide was still moist. Snake is fine, somehow gained a few grams even though he didnt eat, and is going into shed (blue eyes, milky skin). Temps fine,
Anyway, the plastic wrap and water bowl, along with moving the 2nd heat pad did the trick, Thanks everyone, and Girdance for the suggestions that i used, but i will definitally keep all those in mind, and i think next time, ill talk to the kid who watches my dragon, so see if he can ask his parents to add a snake to the list, worth a try at least.
But after that, A tub, or PVC/Plastic enclosure and a higher end thermostat is really looking ideal. So thats my next project, that and probably picking up a different substrate.
Again thanks,
