IF it's done professionally, then I see no problem with it.

Yes, but those are things we choose to do, voluntarily. There's a big difference between that and altering the way a snake is and possibly harming its well being just so we can feel safe handling the animal. If you don't have enough knowledge and experience to handle an intact snake, then you shouldn't have the snake. Period. It's akin to taking out a retic's teeth so it won't injure you if it bites you. Do you also believe it's ok to sew a cobra's mouth shut, as some of the so called "snake charmers" do?

I don't even believe in declawing cats. I have a serious problem altering nature for our own selfish aims.

Lets get rid of some of the myths here.

What one does to him or herself is not the same as to doing it to a snake or another animal.

If the HOLE gland is removed it can not grow back. BUT if any of the gland is left behind it can repair itself and then again become HOT!

VETS are people. People make mistakes. We all have heard about doctors that messed up. A vet can mess up. Are you willing to put your lefe in the hands of a vet? If he misses any part of the gland the snake can become hot again.

Wow, body piercings/tattoos/cutting hair is something that someone makes a conscious decision to do to THEMSELVES.. I'm sure if a snake had the ability to make decisions like that for themselves they would not agree to it.

If someone can not handle a hot, it should be left at that. The snake should not have to pay just so someone can have what they want.
