Re: It has been a Terrible Day :(
Well, she has eaten in there three times with the same setup..it is only a ten gallon. I will try again this week and if she still isn't interested I will move her into a smaller tank or a tub and see how she does. Thanks for the advice!
Re: It has been a Terrible Day :(
The way you word your comment about her being "energized" at night makes me agree with Becky: she seems stressed. BPs are nocturnal, so activity at night is normal. But that doesn't mean all nocturnal activity is normal. When we got our BP, she spent the first several hours exploring her tank, and it was very different from the kind of exploring I see her do now. For one thing, she was moving at a faster pace. But I think the more notable difference is that she practically did not hold still at all during those first few hours. Now when she is out and about at night, or even when she is out of her enclosure when we handle her, she moves around a lot, but she also pauses a lot. Like she might do the snakey periscope thing and just hold still looking around before she moves on.
If you think she is stressed and feeling insecure, another thing that can help is to put a layer of crumpled up balls of newspaper in her enclosure. This way the snake can crawl under and through them, and always feel hidden and secure even when not in a hide. It worked very well for my BP when we first got her.

Ok, I will try that....i will probably do paper towels bits though, since that is what i use for her substrate now. that's a good idea!
