    Maybe... Ha, I think lavendar is just a fancy name someone came up with for the non-fired up version of their dark crested and it sounds cool so people picked up on it and it stuck.

    Don't get me wrong--the lavendar color is nice and it is quite pretty but most of the time that is just the color that those geckos show when not fired up. Why would you name the gecko after its non-fired up color? Some of the "green" cresteds are like that too.

    I have a super cool green and some sweet lavendars if you look at them when they aren't fired up, but honestly I never thought the non-fired up coloration was the color that mattered... But hey, whatever floats your boat! :)

    Well some people are serious about their lavendars. I just think it's weird to name something after the non-fired up version of the gecko. Mostly I think it's marketing. And it sounds pretty. :P
