Re: OMG! I got a BALL PYTHON!!!
Wicked Snake!!! Very cool stripiness!
Now I'll do the downer part..
...Do some research as to better his setup!
There is alot to learn here as far as 2 hides, UTHpads with 2 temps, different substrates(no cedar or pine)(I use newspaper) humidity maintenance(day to day or shed) etc...
I know you are a student and it isn't cheap to set snakes up...but ...do it a bit at a time...spend your money on good heating, heat regulation and monitoring equipment(thermometers/hygrometers) and less on furnishings(they, snakes, don't care if it is Dollar store, an old popcorn tub or a flowerpot for hides and dishes)
Stay away from heat lights as they will make it hard to keep humidity...IMO(came home once to a dehyrated looking snake during a shed once and it scared me into UTHs)
Just some things to ponder...Hope it helps you along and Good Luck!! ...Trav

Re: OMG! I got a BALL PYTHON!!!
Good looking snake!
IMHO, the best thing about keeping snakes is how creative you can get with the setup. I *borrowed* three office-sized plastic trash cans from work, cut off the bottom 6" of two of them, cut a door hole, and turned them upside down for hides, and used the bottom 3 or 4" of the other for the water dish.
Have fun, ask some questions on here, and see what cool stuff you can come up with.
