We have some crazy winds and weather coming in here too. We had temps in the 40-50 today (NOT normal for western NY in January!) and it melted much of the 2 feet that we got last week. Now I am dreading tmrw.. I hate blowing snow. It is 1000x more dangerous than plain falling snow.. it creates whiteouts where you can see nothing at all.
I wish I had the luxury of staying in during this junk. My 15-min drive to work will seem like an eternity.. but you know, we are getting off very easy this year. We have had 6-8 foot drifts on the roadsides a few years ago.

It finally stopped snowing for now.. there is another storm coming tomorrow though. Thats supposed to be the big one. Which is kind of scary considering the last one was the biggest we have had since the ice storm in 96.:O

Nah, she's one easy to please kid. ;) She'd just splash around like crazy, and then try a 'sperrymint' (expermint) to see if she could put it in the freezer and turn it back into snow. She's just too funny.

What time tomorrow does the storm hit you tomorrow? We're in the 60's today and the 50s almost all week. I LOVE the south. :D

Just thought I'd let everyone know that we made it through the last really big storm. That dropped another 9 inches on us. We got another 5 or something yesterday, and its still snowing today. Roads are a little better.

They have declared a State of Emergency. They even had inmates out there digging out houses.
We do have another scary threat now though. Flooding. We have been in a huge drought for a long time, enough snow fell in December to bring us out of the drought. So now we have all of this snow for January and when it melts we are in trouble. We live close to the river:O The intersection by my house already has several feet of water in onc spot.

So yeah, we will be bracing ourselves for not only more snow in the next few days, but also flooding.

Wow. Not much snow here, but everything is under an inch of ice. I had to literally pound the ice off of my jeep this morning. It just would not scrape off.. Now I am in the city at my mom's and just spent an hour shoveling ice off of her front porch, stairs, railing, and driveway. And it'll probably all be back in a minute. Gah.. should've stayed at work!
Kristy, please give us back our normal winter weather! Snow, we can deal with. But this..

I will send the snow storms your direction:)

There is Ice all over everything, except its under the snow. The first storm that came through it snowed a bunch, then rained, then snowed. So it froze. Shaun spent two hours yesterday breaking 4 inches of ice off of our front porch, and the wall outside our front door. The over hang outside where the rain gutters are is completely covered in ice, and the gutter is a solid block. So all the water pours down over the front and its like an ice castle lol. Its such a pain. My dryer vent happens to be right there, so when I do laundry it melts the ice enough to break it up and shovel it away. So that makes it a little easier.

Oh man; I am sorry about your situation :( I dealt with 2 inches of ice here. 4 inches.. wow, that is unimaginable!
