As long as your set up is on and your BP is acting normal(sleeping all day, awake at night) then you should be fine trying to feed him live tonight... If he refuses the live then Id wait a week to try again... trying to feed too soon can cause stress. Good luck.

I've had him for over week now, but I moved back to school two days ago with him.

I warmed the mouse by letting it sit at room tempurature for awhile, then I put it in very hot water.

Yes the belly just popped! It was really gross. Also, the mouse smelt really bad, like you could smell it cross the room, do you think the mouse went bad from all the moving? I tried to keep it as frzed as possible.

I am planning on feeding live, so it's not really a debate. No worries, I am going to watch the whole thing with tongs in hand just incase the hopper is a biter!

the water was too hot. put it in luke warm water rather than HOT water. the reason for the smell is you cooked it, rather than warming it up. if you have a heat lamp, stick the nose of the mouse up to the lamp for 10 seconds.

Well I went to go get a live mouse at the local animal shop. The hoppers were too small for him so I got a small mouse for him.

    I almost cried :(

I decided to feed him in his tank, I just took his hides out and the big plant and put the mouse in. The mouse walked right him and he snatched it right up. He didn't have any trouble downing the mouse, and it has not left too big of a bulge in him. I carefully put everything back in his tank and turned the light off.

Oh by the way...OH MY GOD!!! I had no IDEA how big ball python poops are! And he's just a baby! He just dropped a log right in the middle of his tank.
