what is the best type of housing

If your going with a Jampean, then get the T-10, from Animal Plastics. I prefer them over Vision and other brands, and they hold up excellent to abuse from both you, and the animal. On that note though, what are you looking for in a giant? Maybe I could help you select a species your looking for?

in a giant i'm looking for a animal that doesnt get to frisky but is still manable to move during a cage cleaning. Any suggestions?

Personally, if you could afford it, I'd go for a Black headed Python. Although they are an expensive initial buy, their care, and feeding isn't that much of a cost, compared to Burms, Retics, or AfRocks. They get large, yet manageable, and are incredibly gorgeous displays, as well as respectful captives.

Another animal would be the Coastal Carpet Python. They're very gorgeous in their own right, get to large, yet manageable sizes, and are for the most part, docile.

Blood Pythons are another great captive. If you put in the effort, and do your homework, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to keep them. They get to a large size, rather girthy, and feed readily. They are very nice looking animals out there, for decent prices as well.

True giant species to look at, and consider, are males of the giant species. Male Burmese Pythons do not get very large on average, come in attractive color morphs, and care is pretty straight-forward. The giant I would least recommend has to be the AfRock (African Rock Python, Python sebae). They are for very experienced keepers, only! Not to say if one put forth the effort, they couldn't care for one...but these giants are very dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced.

LOOOOVE Black heads, good luck finding some for sale though. I know they're out there, just so few in numbers. :P

I'm a fan of bloods, all 3 species, but I have my heart with the Sumatran short tails (aka Black Blood). ;) I lubs em.

i see i'll do some research on each of the speices and i totally agree with your commment about the african rock python. Those snakes get bigg ( sometimes mean) also from what little i read....:rolleyes: i heard that they take everything as fair game

They take a bit of looking around, but oh so worth it! They reminds me of Indigo's, or Cribo's almost. The way they move, feed, and react. Very intelligent snakes. Bloods have to be one of my favorites too....but deep down, African Rocks are always my #1 :P

Do you own any rocks? and if so what do sized enclosure do you keep them in? just some question

They take larger prey on average, than any other giant in the wild, upwards of 100-140% their body weight. In turn, they have more of a bite force, as well as some power and speed to back it up. They're not exactly mean, but they do get set off very easily. Almost anything their size is fair game, including any mammal or bird.

I used to own a very, very large collection of rocks, but lost them in a neighborhood fire, back in august along with my other snakes....even my Het. Daddy weirds died in that fire. I kept my females in AP T60's, T65's, and T25's. The males I kept in T10's, and T25's.

That's what everyone says about Black heads, just like Womas, they're so intelligent. It's one of my dream pythons to keep, that and Boelen's python. Though I doubt I will be able to get my hands on either. Those two fascinate me!
