OH....one last thought before I log off for the night. The reason I suggested that you use a small tub for awhile instead of the big glass tank is because it will hold heat and humidity in much more easily than the tank. It's much easier to control the environment in the tub without having to spray it at all.

Anyhow...that's my reasoning there. Whatever you think will work best for you. Primary needs are 1) Consistent warmth 2) clean, dry substrate that won't irritate....and secondarily, a quiet, dimly lit or dark space where it can rest and heal without undue stress.

Good luck...and please let us know how things go!

Okay. I went to the vet today and thought I would update you on what he said. He did a great job and really sat there and chatted with me for quite awhile. He said I needed to change some things about my tank mainly the heat (get it up to a range from 75 to 95.) I had it to low. And also get the humidity up closer to 80% all the time. He did diagnose it as a burn (I feel so bad, I burned my little baby). So I took the heater under the tank and actually moved it to the side to still emit some heat to the tank without actually touching him.

He gave me a topical cream to put on his sores once a day and also a prescription shot. Yes, I have to administer a shot to him one a day for twenty days! I am a little terrified but I did get to practice atleast. He said it could be almost 2 to 2and a half months before he is healed.

As for my question, I need to get the temp and the humidity up. Does anyone recommend a specific type of lamp to help achieve this kind of heat. Do I need both a night and a daytime light? I'm a little confused. Also, is there anything out there to get my humidity up. I do have a glass tank. I keep two wet washclothes on the screen on the top and mist it down but it seems to lower very quickly. Any ideas? Any help would be great. I appreciate all your help!
