I bought him from a private breeder here in Florida. If you want one you need a class III permit from the wild life commission. As far as a pet ....He's like having a very funny, sweet and very agile 3yr old:) He is Great and makes me laugh all the time:gj: If I'm pissed when I come home he sit and pets my hair and grooms me:) will posts some pics when I get home tonight.

How do you go about getting these permits to keep such animals? I would hope its very hard to do so.

You need to apply for the permit by filling out a 3 page document in which they ask you about the animal, your previous experience and husbandry, and all about the animals natural habitat and how you plan to recreate it, also whom you will be using as your vet(and they do check!). I also got a call from a wildlife officer asking some more detailed questions about care and such. Then about a month later you get your permit or a letter explaining why you were turned down for it. Not the hardest thing to do, but the wait time and all the questions probably weed out the jerks and money makers:)
