Re: Is my Vet right or wrong??
It is common for Ball Pythons to go a while with out eating ecspecially in the winter. I would wait alot longer before thinking about force feeding. I have herd of many peoples Ball Pythons fasting for up to six months. They can be very picky. I dont have a the problem with mine but like I said I know of lots of people who have. And my vet said this is pretty common for BPs.

Funny I said the exact same thing to her but she just said, well BP's are from a low humidity country blah blah blah!
She also used a good example of people finding bad info on the net and usuing it.
She said she had a dog come in and she subscribed a dosage for the medication but the owner went "online" and was told to change the dosage and that whats makes her ANGRY!
Plus I find with her whatever she says goes... no if ands or butts! lol

Yeah I will wait longer then that, at least until the summer when it warms up a bit!
I dont have a scale so I can't tell you if he is losing weight but he has gotten smaller then he would be if he was eating every week.
My vet also explaned that the snakes backbone should be shaped like the peak of a house, or maybe the peak of a mountain (kinda hard to explain the shape... how about rounded) and if it is shaped like a heart then he is over weight. Which did kind of make sense, but I'm sure my BP isn't over weight if he hasnt eaten in 3 months!
It's sad I can't find a qualified herp vet and I will continue to use her I think for now, but I am very careful with what information I use that I get from her.
Thank ya for ur points, and hopefully my vet will smarten up! Becuase I'm sure there are other people out there using her and I hope they arent using all her info.
Cheers!
