My smaller torts graze the whole time they are outside. Our larger yellowfoot loves to just run laps. He grazes occasionally, but loves to run around. He is the most active tort I've ever had. Also will follow you anywhere for a chance to get a bite of your banana. I was walking around the yard with a banana, he got a whiff of it and charged over as fast as his legs could go.:)

I will be finishing their outdoor yards this spring. Complete with shelters and a protective locking grate over the top so I can allow them more outside time while I take care of inside stuff.

The grate will protect them from other animals or whatever comes by. The dogs like to watch the torts but I know they are capable of killing them. Inside the adult torts have wooden enclosures . I got the plans from chelonia trust. They call them tort tables. Mine sit low to the ground. I never thought I would enjoy having torts so much.

I have a lrg. yellow foot, (9 1/2 - 10 lbs.)a russian and a three toed box turtle. Besides our leopard hatchling. This is our first hatchling though.
There are pics of all them in my gallery. Most of them were taken a while back. As soon as I get my camera back I will be taking more pics. 2 are rescues, the three toed was on her way to a very painful death when we got her. She has made a full recovery, but did have to have surgery to survive.:(

I love the Hermanns but have enough for now. I would like to add a sulcatta but due to space restrictions that isn't possible right now. There are so many I love. I don't care for the upkeep of any of the aquatic turtles though. Love to see them, but it ends there.
