They are actually nocturnal from what I understand. But they hang out and don't hide during the day. They are partially arboreal - meaning for the first part of their lives. As they get bigger, they stay closer to the ground.
I'm learning that handling helps tame them if you are patient and move SLOW. But, as Pat said, there are no guarantees!
