Thanks everyone for the advice.
I have changed her dry food and I have just started in the last 2 mos giving her wet food which I had never done in 11 yrs.

I don't think at her age I will go with the spay. I would feel just awful If I did do it and something happen to her.
No new people or pets in the house just the change in food which I think maybe the problem. I will take her to the vet and see that everything checks out.
Her main area seems to be at the front door which also leads me to think maybe a new cat moved into the bldg or is outside.
I can't believe after almost 12 yrs she starts this. :mad:

Is there a chance that a friend or coworker's cat's scent could be brought in on you? Even if you lean up against something that had been by another cat, or sit in a chair that another cat owner sat in, your clothes can pick up the smell of others' cats! My cat will go nuts if you come home after having been in another cat's house.. he'll attack your shoes after you take them off.
I would get a vet visit in just to rule out anything. My mom's cat had liver problems and was peeing in odd spots when she was getting up there in years.
