Boa Experts Help With Question

They looks exactly like my boa's Baytril shot scars...I'd get you some new pics of her and her scars, but she's in shed right now...

Lemme see if I've got some recent-ish pics that show her scars...

I don't have any great pictures of her scars because honestly I try to take pictures so you DON'T see her scars...but if you look at this picture, the scars are circled in red.

They used to have more white, but as the scars have aged, thankfully the whiteness has dulled to more orange and black:

are the scales rough?

No, they were never rough, although when they were white, it almost looked like that area was indented a bit...

When she first shed, revealing the "white", her shed looked like it had actual scales in it...

Carmen's scars are 18 months old and if you are stroking her and not looking, you can't really tell where they are.

you are right those do look like pied marks. buy i doubt they are. i cant rember wich big breeder has a pied boa but i dont think it ever proved out. i think it was kahl.

yeah i definitely dont think they are scars. no indention, no wrinkles, no marks. they are smooth perfect scales. soooo odd.

Hehe, I would certainly hope for your sake that they aren't scars...I certainly don't wish them on anyone. =P

Pete was in a deal in which he was going to buy a pair of "het pied" boa's from a guy in ?Germany? I believe it was. Apparently they were "proven", het's but the guy couldn't show any pictures of the pied babies, nor did Pete see any pied babies when he took a trip over to that breeders place. Things went south when things started to get fishy and Pete declined on buying those snakes.

I'm going to second that one. It does look very much like baytril scarring. Good look cass. Boas don't "scar" like we do. The "scars" will smooth out to a visual only after a year at the most. Since they have scales, and not skin, they don't scar like we think of scarring. My big normal girl, Hestia, has "scarring" on her nose from a slight nose rub. It's never gone away, but it isn't noticeable to the touch at all. It's all visual now.

I agree on scarring. I've seen some boa's who have had baytril shots and their scales are now a different color and some do have white spots. Normally over time they will fade to a darker color but look and feel completely normal.

My BP has some baytril scarring. Her scales in that area are a bit lighter then the others.
