lol I here that everyday at work (petsmart).... Always something like I bought one fish there and it killed my whole tank cuz of ich. Or I went to get my dog groomed and they lost it. The list goes on.... But I go over there every so often and man I feel for the the animals....
I heard that often toward Petsmart when I was at Petco for 3 years. Truth is every now and then either one will strike it lucky and get a good manager with a good staff, but neither of their corporate policies are condusive to the health and well being of exotic animals. these are Dog and Cat stores. For example:
-Petsmart has "animal specialists" meaning if you know one department you are a specialist in them all (and believe me the reptiles are not their hiring priority).
-Petco would get small and shriveled BPs in, keep them in groups of 10+ in an enclosure the size of a 10 gal tank, in enclosures that are over-ventilated and under heated, and would not allow the use of live feeders as a corporation under the penalty of instant termination!! Why? Because they didn't want to piss of PETA (they admited this, and did so proudly it seemed)
These are just a few policies that stand out, but don't always blame the employees. Many of them are just as frustrated as you are.
