    Thanks MF,

He is pretty sweet. He is like that most of the time in his enclosure. When I take him out he will sit there in my lap for about ten minutes then slowly start to unwind. Slowly wander around. He is not flightly or nervous in the least. Just a really even-tempered laidback snake. I think he just feels more secure in that position.

I have his sibling clutch mate and she is on of those snakes that as you are opening the enclosure she is out with her head and neck around the forearm.

Both sound like great snakes to keep! God, their personalities are the best, aren't they? I LOVE BP's, and snakes in general!

Mostly the babies tend to ball up more than the adults.

And only the flighty adults/subadults ball up for me.

Funny you ask because I was playing with my little one yesterday and my parents were right there and I said... "I don't know about a ball python... Maybe a rope python or a string python... Definitely not a ball."

He NEVER balls up, I take him out and he is INSTANTLY all over me.

He gets handled frequently, just seems to like the security of being balled up.

I couldn't agree more. I started with BPs and have diversified to 3 species, with plans for more. Just going slow and making sure I can provide for them, and meet their needs before I get too many.
