Re: retf stopped calling...
:weirdface if you say so Pat...
I blocked off the back "vent" (the other half of the screen) there are also vents in the front that are not obstructed...about 75% of the vents are blocked to keep some airflow and the temps have stabilized at 78.4 at the very top an inch below the light and its 71 at the bottom on the soil.. our humidity is a bit high (95%) but thats because i just misted really well.
Emily (or other frog owners) they dont stay slimy all day.. does that mean there isnt enough moisure? They dont really dry out but they dont have that nice slime they do when I first mist them. Also, are they like reptiles that will go to a more favorable place in the tank for regulating temps or can they maintain more like people?

the frogs will move about in the cage and go to where the temps are warmer or cooler depending on their needs at the time. they do thermoregulate like other reptiles.
they aren't necessarily slimey all the time--they are always slightly moist or sticky, but not super slimey looking or feeling. as long as there is always fresh water available and your humidity is consistently around 50%, rising some when you mist, but dropping back down to 50% in between mistings they should be fine.
