    Did you get a weight on him as has been suggested? Thinking he might be losing weight and knowing he is losing weight are very different.
    If you have not gotten a gram scale yet, run-don't walk- to your nearest office supply store, etc., and get a scale.
    Record keeping is a huge part of husbandry responsibility. Your records will allow you to track your herp's progress while also giving the vet a really good picture of what's been going on (should he ever require a trip to the vet.)
    In our journals, we have spaces for date of feeding, what fed, weight of prey, and weight of herp (2x month when they're young.) Also have a space for when shed, success of shed, and a 'notes' section.
    Good luck; and get the scale!!! :D

    Hi,

    Also a few ideas that pop out from your post;

    Stop handling him totally till he has eaten consistantly (say 3 times in a row) then beging handling for short periods and if he stops eating again the stop handling till he re-starts. Sometimes the stress of handling can be all it takes to put them off.

    You need to change the water more regularly - every couple of days would be fine I would think but a week is a bit long to leave it in a warm snake tank.

    You said the heat lamp goes off at night when you are asleep - how low do your temperatures get (and what are they during the day) at night?

    How are you measuring them and where in the tank?

    If your giving him a significant night time drop that may be triggering different behaviours?
