Re: Skinny Iggy
He looks fine to me, iguanas are very active and don't tend to get "fat" like a lot of lizards can. But because of where you got him from I'd take him to the vet, better safe than sorry. Here's a good care sheet that should answer a lot of your questions, http://www.anapsid.org/ . He is a beautiful iggy by the way.:gj:. Best of luck!

Re: Skinny Iggy
Hes thinner than he looks in the pic. Thats him fully "puffed" up displaying himself to me. Im gonna have to take some more pics where you can see his ribs.
"By grains what do you mean? I didn't think iggys need protien. "
By grains I mean he gets unbleached high grain bread every once in a while and he gets cooked unbleached rice(boiled). But only in small amounts (10% of diet).
Igs need protein, most if not all animals need some sort of protein i believe.
" Do you have a UV light, I know they need that. "
" 2 4ft ZooMed 10.0s" - the best uvb bulbs on the market ;) (only the best for my ig)
"I can't figure out what IR means. "
Infrared lighting- Red bulbs that produce heat and red light unseen by the reptiles, usually labelled as nocturnal lightning or night lighting. Dont last as long as heating elements but I have alot of friends that come over later in the night after hes asleep and I like to let them see him without disturbing him and they cost MUCH less.
More than likely hell be geting a vet visit next week sometime after I recoop from taking a couple snakes to the vet earlier.
