    Hi,

Or you could buy some carniverous plants - some pitcher plants can look stunning and should do a good job with any luck.:)

    Sundews are nice too.

No houseplants here either, I have a seriously black thumb, I even managed to kill off lucky bamboo!

Ryan is bringing me back some fly strips so we'll put those up as well as try the vinegar trick. I just want them gone!!!!!

I hate those little Bastards!! They are not gnats they are Demon flies! (I Forget the name) I had my last two clutches in the incubator and those nasty demons laid eggs in there. I had maggots crawling out of my eggs.. No harm to the babies . But OMG Where did they come from all of a sudden??

I keep flystrips over my cricket enclosure which are super efficient, as well as a dish of beer beside the enclosure, one upstairs, and another one in the next room to the cricket enclosure.

I learned a valuable lesson today.... don't send your husband after fly strips... it's like sending a two year old into a plumbing store. *sigh* So, we will fight these demons with a single fly strip and some containers of wine, vinegar and wine/vinegar and I pray the cats will not find a way to make a bigger mess.

Do you have a fish tank? I had a problem with tiny flies that were breeding in one of my aquariums. You'd open the lid, and out would come 5-10 tiny flies. I guess that maybe they needed water to breed? There is a product that I used that is safe for pond fish; it is meant to kill mosquito larvae but it did the trick.
We "did" have mosquitos breeding in Mark's big tank at one point!! Now.. that was disgusting. By the time we noticed, you could see the larvae in the tank. The fish were Oscars and not interested in the tiny larvae. The feeders we used ate some, but we had to treat the tank with the stuff I mentioned before; it worked great.

Ouch.. I am at a loss then. I had gnats once, but it was from a forgotten potato that somehow got left on my kitchen counter.. man was that wretched!

About 6 months after we moved here I had an explosion... same thing... everything was clean, and I went NUTS trying to find where they were coming from. I went into the guest bathroom one day and saw one fly out of the shower drain- that is not in heavy use... I poured some bleach down every sink and shower drain, and knock on wood... they haven't been back! Might try that too!?!?!?

    Best O'luck!
