    humidity may be a reason that they cannot stick as well as they should. if they cannot shed propely then they may have some stuck shed on their toe pads. if thats the case then they cannot stick as well as they should.

    if youre using glass tanks and your humidity is low then you might want to cover up most of the screen top with plastic wrap or some other material that will help hold moisture in. paper towels arent the greatest for humidity especially in glass enclosures. if youre making a substrate switch then you should be fine but if you still have problems then partially covering the screen should do the trick. along with daily mistings of course!;)

    sitting on the moss the probe is pulling up 83% humidity

    well youre good for humidity for cresties. plastic usually holds humidity better than glass in my experience. i was making those suggestions for kristina who is using glass aquariums.
