    Just a note about the boa idea. If you want a snake that won't get too big for you to manage and you don't have boa experience then do think about making sure it's a male. Females can get quite a bit bigger so if you're mainly looking for a boa that will be a bit smaller and easier for one person to manage then perhaps a male would be the better choice.

    Our son's male Colombian boa is a very manageable size and has a very easy going temperment. He has been gently handled though since he was a hatchling so I think that's a large part of why he continues, as he matures, to be a just sweet natured snake.
