Daniel, I was about to say that female looks a little obese, but hopefully it's something else! ;)

I am hoping that is the beginning of her 'swell' from being gravid. I never saw any breeding which makes me has my doubts though. If not, females also puff up a bit when they cycle and are ready for a male...so if no eggs then I want to see some breeding ;)

No real way to get obese though. They are fed crickets everyday and offered pinkies once a week. Sometimes they take the pinkies, sometimes they don't. Pretty low maintenance when it comes to food ;)

daniel you should post more often, haven't seen enough pics of these or the tristis lately. so basically what i mean are great pics, oh and good luck with upcoming breedings.

oh, and how's your last egg doing? (i think i remember you said only one still looked viable, forgive me if I remember incorrectly.)
**just kidding, i only just now read day 97, can't wait for baby pics

ya...I have been working on getting some more stuff setup, so I have not been taking as many pictures. Hopefully, I can finally finish "the shed" soon and get the monitors out of my house with some added room to do some more things. I plan on picking up a group of yellow ackies in the next week, so they should be an interesting add on to my collection. I wanted to get something 'not so high dollar and fun' to breed while waiting on some caudolineatus and gilleni to become available somewhere.

Day 98 now!! ha ha....no real expectations though since this is my first time trying to hatch out a monitor egg. It has lasted this long and 'grown up' well, so hopefully something will come of it. I did a 50/50 perlite water mix and have been wiping away any condensation over the last 2 months when I check on it each week. Hopefully that keeps it from drowning. We will see though. I can't wait to get more in the incubator.
