Is there a chance that you could pick up another breedable female for him, and not have to change your original plan?
That's the best solution yet.... well said! :)

I'm not sure there's such a thing as a "cheap breedable female" at this time of year. :P But IF you could find a healthy, proven breeder that fit within your budget....that would, of course, be ideal.
Otherwise....I think it depends very much on WHY you planned originally to breed the pastel to the two females. Was it just because that's all you had and it seemed like a good idea at the time? OR...is it because you're really hoping for a number of pastel babies to either hold back for future projects or to sell?
If you're counting on a number of pastel babies, I'd stick with your original plan and just be patient on proving out the new guy.
If the original plan was simply in place because that happened to be the breedable snakes you had at the time....then I'd mix it up a bit and give the pastel one female and the new guy the other female.
No matter what, I would not breed both snakes to the same girl, for the reasons already stated above. If you want to prove him out, you have to be absolutely sure which babies are his.

Re: what would YOU do?
The original plans with the pastel were in place simply because I had him, he was my only male, and I eventually want a super. Well, I can do a super with ONE pastel female, and I had intended to sell/trade everything else off already. It makes sense to me to breed 1:1, so I think that's what I'll do..
As far as getting another breedable female.. Well, this time of year that's nearly impossible it seems, plus I just blew all my money on the new guy. I'll have him in my possession next week and will take some better pics for all of you.
BTW, both the females I'll be breeding this year are virgins. One is 6 years, the other is 3. Both are around 1700g and just short of 4ft.

Between what Judy said, and now knowing why your original plan was in place and your ultimate goal with your Pastel project, I would change my vote. I would now say breed the Pastel to the older female and the new guy (great looking snake by the way, and I would be eager to breed it myself) to the younger female.
I say that beacuse I think you will have better chances getting offspring from the older female (assuming she has good body weight for her length) and you will need a Pastel female to reach your original goal. Just my 2 cents, but I hope it helped,

As Tim says , breed Pastel to bigger female , special to the other. Maybe try source a abberant female for the special one next year ? Just my two bob.
