for babies that i kept in racks i never used humid hides. i kept them on paper towel substrate, used plastic plant pot bases for hides and water dishes and misted once per day, sometimes twice for those under 1 month old. for adults i did use humid hides but did not mist their enclosures (i used newspaper substrate for them).
