    So this snake's been in at least 3 homes since it's big enough that it's well over a year old and they state their "friend" got it a year ago already scarred. As far as the scar it looks very much like what one of our adult females has which our vet said must have occurred from an unprotected and very hot overhead light that was left inside her enclosure at some point prior to us taking her in. I can tell you that our snake shows no ill effects from the scarring but it is sad these things happen to such lovely creatures.

    With any rescue you have to be prepared for vet bills, feeding issues, some handling concerns as the snake may be quite defensive at first, that sort of thing. It's well worth it however if you have the knowledge to help the snake, the committment to want to do rescue and a plan for the snake if you don't intend to keep it yourself for the rest of it's natural life.
