Re: Favorite Lyrics
One Cup of Coffee/Judge Not
Original songs by Bob Marley, cover mix by Sublime.
I got the money, like the lawyer said to do.
But it can't replace the heartache I caused you.
Oh tomorrow I'll be leaving, I know.
But, one cup of coffee and then I'll go.
I got the money, like the lawyer said to do.
But it can't replace the heartache I caused you.
Oh tomorrow I'll be leaving, I loved.
But, one cup of coffee and then I'm gone.
One cup.
Before you fool yourself.
Judge not.
Or you're not ready for judgment.
Oh the road to life is rocky,
And you may stumble too.
But as you point you finger,
someone else is judging you.
Judge not.
Before you judge yourself.
Judge not.
Or you're not ready for judgment.
The road to life is rocky,
And you may stumble too.
So while your laughing at me,
Someone else is judging you.

Foxy lady
Foxy, Foxy
You know you are a cute little heart breaker
Foxy yeah,
And you know you are a sweet little lover maker
Foxy
I wanna take you home, yeah
I won't do you no harm
You've got to be all mine, all mine
ooh Foxy Lady
Foxy, Foxy
Now-a I see you come down on the scene
oh Foxy
You make me wanna get up and-a scream
Foxy, oh baby listen now
I've made up my mind,
I'm tired of wasting all my precious time
You've got to be all mine, all mine
ooh, Foxy Lady
Ooh, Foxy Lady, yeah yeah
You look so good, Foxy
oh yeah Foxy
yeah, give us some, Foxy
Foxy Foxy
Foxy Foxy
Foxy Foxy

Re: Favorite Lyrics
So many, I could type forever. These are at the top.
Expect the worse, you bleeding heart, but kill me first
Before it starts, yes my c*** is getting hard,
We are born different after all
Invite mayhem, produce weapons, shoot out, burn down
No CNN or media now
It's digging time again, you're nurturing the weakest trend
Those with the heart and the brain to get past this
Can spot a pathetic without even asking
F*** your magazine, and f*** the long dead plastic scene
Pierce a new hole, if Hell was "in" you'd give your soul
Buy it at a store, from MTV to on the floor
You look just like a star, it's proof you don't know who you are
It's bulls*** time again, you'll save the world within your trend
Politically relieved, you're product sold and well received
The right words spoken gold, if I was God you'd sell your soul
That final day has come to dawn I'm off to no-mans land
Into the barbed wire, into the smoke Where ones' dreams turn to sand
I look to the day when I'm in your arms After the pain and misery of war
When I look in your eyes and see your smile I know what I've been fighting for
I'm off to the front, you must not cry
I'd die a thousand deaths before I'd live a lie
Your love and trust in me is all I'd ever known
Forget me not, because one day I'm coming home
Shattered dreams lay all around me Yet my faith is strong
To see the future of you and me Keeps me carrying on
You're in my thoughts day and night When I'm asleep you're in my dreams
You're my sanity in this world of madness That's filled with cries and screams
The train keeps on rolling To where many before me have fell
For the blood and the glory and the sacrifice Of a generation fighting in hell
May I be brave as those before me Staring the shadow of death in the eye
With passion and valor I'll stare in his face For I'm not afraid to die
One day we all will die, a cliched fact of life.
Force fed to make us heed. Inbred to sponge our bleed.
Every warning, a leaking rubber,
A poison apple for mingled blood.
Too young for ones delusion, the lifestyle cost
Venereal mother embrace the loss.
he was killed by a man with a switchblade knife
for $43 dollars my friend lost his life
I'd love to spit some Beechnut in that dude's eye
shoot him with my old 45 and a country boy can survive
Stiffer stipulations attached to each sentence
Budget cutbacks but increased police presence
And even if you get out of prison still livin
join the other five million under state supervision
This is business, no faces just lines and statistics
from your phone, your zip code, to S-S-I digits
Crack mothers, crack babies and AIDS patients
Young bloods can't spell but they could rock you in PlayStation
This new math is whippin motherf*****s ass
You wanna know how to rhyme you better learn how to add
It's mathematics
Hip Hop is prosecution evidence
The out of court settlement
Ad space for liquor
Sick without benefits
Luxury tenements choking the skyline
It's low life getting tree-top high
Here there's a back water remedy
Bitter intent to memory
A class E felony
Facing the death penalty
Stimulant and sedative, original repetitive
Violently competitive, a school unacredited
The break beats you get broken with
on time and inappropriate
Hip Hop went from selling crack to smoking it
The battered knight stood upon the hill
He catches his breath for a moment while everything is still
He's battled for days, he knows he hasn't much left
He knows his end is coming, yet he'll die with no regrets
Against the injustices of his land
He'll see the reigning guard die by his hand
If he fails at least he dies trying
For his ideals it was worth dying
The farmer stood beside the knight
Armed with a pitchfork and a scythe
He didn't want to pay his taxes anymore
He was sick of seeing the rich feed off the poor
The collectors came and tried to rob him blind
He refused to pay his taxes, they called it a crime
He ran them off, sent them penniless without a thing
He was the first man not to pay the king
It's the last act of defiance
A union against the king and the crown
Side by side they would die together
United together to bring the system down
Together in unison they marched on the king
With a roar outlawed songs they would sing
The revolt is in motion, they have to be brave
For they'd rather die as free men than to live as slaves
One thousand years of forgotten glory
One thousand sins we shall not forget
One thousand heroes no longer forgotten
One thousand swords unsheathed for your death
We fear not death, for it is our ally
We fear not hate, for it is our friend
We fear not your gods, for they have no power
And we fear not you, for you shall die

Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
this is a very heartwarming tearjerking peom i only recently discovered after a friend of mine at school died and at the momourial they read out this peom and it symbolized so much of what Pares stood for in life i have just remembered it.
sorry for going on but she was a great friend and meant a lot to me
god bless Pares Forever Fifteen

Re: Favorite Lyrics
For me every song that ever really got me in the gut was a country song. Funny since I was raised country but for so many years thought it was dumb and behind the times. I guess one day it just hit me that those country songs were the songs of my life and I proudly came back home to country. I'd use up far too much room listing all those songs that mean so much to me.
In the end though, the ultimate song, the one that touches me most and the one I want playing me into the angels arms is this wonderful song.
Amazing Grace
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The world shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun refuse to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.
When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

"Millstone" by Brand New (Jessey Lacey)
I used to be such a burning example,
I used to be so original.
I used to care, I was being cared for.
Made sure I showed it to those that I love.
I used to sleep without a single stir,
'Cause I was about my father's work.
Well take me out tonight,
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck,
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.
I used to pray like God was listening.
I used to make my parents proud.
I was the glue that kept my friends together,
Now they don't talk and we don't go out.
I used to know the name of every person I'd kissed.
Now I've made this bed and I can't fall asleep in it.
Well take me out tonight,
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck,
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.
Throw me that lifeline,
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.
"They never hit their brakes..."
"There was no time to see..."
"He just ran out in the street..."
"Does anybody know his name?"
"I think I recognize him..."
"He sure as hell paid for that mistake..."
Woah.
So take me out tonight.
This ship of fools I'm on will sink.
I'm my own stone around my neck.
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.
Well save my life tonight.
This ship of fools I'm on will sink
I'm my own stone around my neck
{If you'd} be my breath, there's nothing I wouldn't give.
"Some Red Handed Sleight of Hand" by Cursive
And now, we proudly present
songs perverse and songs of lament.
A couple of hymns of confession,
and songs that recognize our sick obsessions.
Sing along- I'm on the ugly organ again.
Sing along- I'm on the ugly organ, so lets begin.
There's no use to keep a secret,
everything I hide ends up in lyrics...
so read on- accuse me when you're done-
if it sounds like I did you wrong.
Our father, who art in heaven,
save me from this wreck I'm about to drown in.
Didn't I learn anything counting out
my sins on rosary beads?
The reverend plays on the ugly organ;
he spews out his sweet ad salty sermon
on the audience.
...So why do I think I'm any different?
I've been making money off my indifference.
We all pass the hat around,
'This is my body', this is the blood I found
on my hands after I wrote this album.
Play it off as stigmata for crossover fans...
some red handed sleight of hand.
Woah oh.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many more.

Trace Adkins ---- Arlington
I never thought that this is where I'd settle down,
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown,
They gave me this plot of land, me and some other men, for a job well done,
There's a big white house sits on a hill just up the road,
The man inside he cried the day they brought me home,
They folded up a flag and told my mom and dad, we're proud of your son
[Chorus:]
And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property,
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company,
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done,
I can rest in peace, I'm one of the chosen ones, I made it to Arlington
I remember daddy brought me here when I was eight,
We searched all day to find out where my granddad lay,
And when we finally found that cross,
He said, "son this is what it cost to keep us free" Now here I am,
A thousand stones away from him,
He recognized me on the first day I came in,
And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels, and saluted me.
[Repeat Chorus]
And everytime I hear twenty-one guns,
I know they brought another hero home to us
We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done,
We can rest in peace, 'cause we are the chosen ones,
We made it to arlington, yea dust to dust,
Don't cry for us, we made it to arlington

Re: Favorite Lyrics
The sky is deep, the sky is dark,
The light of stars is so damn stark.
When I look up, I fill with fear.
If all we have is what lies here,
this lonely world, this troubled place,
then cold dead stars and empty space...
Well, I see no reason to persevere,
no reason to laugh or shed a tear,
no reason to sleep or ever to wake,
no promises to keep, and none to make.
And so at night I still raise my eyes
to study the clear but mysterious skies--
that arch above us, as cold as stone.
Are you there, God? Are we alone?
