It's not necessary to lower night temperatures unless you have adult snakes you're breeding, so leaving the heat pad on a stable setting will work fine. :)

Hmmm good luck getting a cash refund on the stuff they sold you, some pet stores aren't going to work with you that way. If they won't give you a refund, try to go with a store credit. At least that way you can get something out of what they sold you to buy aspen bedding or such like.
