Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
The foil tape at Home Depot and elsewhere is $8 and up, but WalMart does have it in their paint section for $6-something. It's a bigger roll too.

Everyone always forgets about duct tape. The stuff is designed to be used on heating ducts and holds up well under warm temperatures. And it's a lot cheaper then aluminum tape.

Re: If not aluminum tape, then what?
I have some of that black/dark grey duct tape holding the flexwatt in place on my sub-adult rack. It's thicker and bunches up in some places, regardless of the space in between the top of the rack and the tub. Seems like the heat makes itmore prone to moving. I plan on replacing it all with foil tape when I have time.
Also have foil tape on my bigger 6-tub rack holding the flexwatt down, and even over the connections, the tubs moving over it, it hasn't caused a problem.
The foil tape is just thinner and the tubs slide easier over it since it doesn't have all those individual fibers.

I ended up getting foil tape at home depot and was only $2.50 for like a 30ft section.
